Whether your goals are to be competitive in dog sports or just to have a well behaved and obedient member of your household, Head Start is where you need to begin to accomplish your goals.
The Head Start program has been developed to create a solid foundation from which you and your puppy can build off of. The program actually begins with the experience and knowledge behind the breeding of each litter. Attention to pedigrees, temperament and health are the hallmarks of the Rock Solid foundation. A unique early socialization program creates an environment of positive early bonding, gentle stimulation and developmental exposure to new situations.
Puppy placement begins with a full understanding of each family's specific needs and lifestyles. The puppy is then hand picked based on weeks of careful and continual evaluation and handling. It is at this point that a developmental and educational program is designed for both owner and puppy.
This part of the program includes:
-- Understanding the developmental stages and proper socialization
of a puppy.
-- Breed and puppy specific information.
-- Help in creating a customized home training program.
-- Basic house manners.
-- How to encourage positive behavior and discourage negative
behavior.
-- Proper exercise and general care.
-- Play sessions.
-- We encourage continued socialization, training classes, and k-9
sports.
